Swami Krishnananda’s discourse on The Chhandogya Upanishad teaches about the journey of the soul after the death of the body. Ancient seers of India taught that the soul journeys to the sun after death. A properly evolved soul would be allowed passage through the sun and into higher spiritual realms. Teachings on prana, nadis, nerves, and kundalini are included in this discourse.

Swami Sivananda is one of the world’s most well known and respected yogis. He authored over 200 books on Yoga, Vedanta, and other subjects. In his book Mind – Its Mysteries and Control, Swami Sivananda teaches how the mind is created by the food that we eat through a process of pranic transformation and transportation. Swami Sivananda also states, “If you know the process of drawing the energy from the cosmic energy or solar energy, you can maintain the body with this energy alone for any length of time and can dispense with food.” Is sun gazing this secret method of yoga?

Swami Nirmalananda Giri teaches us many ancient yoga secrets in his book Om Yoga – Its Theory and Practice. In the section called “Om is the essence of the evolutionary solar energies”, Swami Nirmalananda Giri references the ancient spiritual texts of Inida, the Upanishads, to teach us that “Sunlight is the radiant form of Om, so the sun initiates the entire solar system into Om.
