On August 7, 2007, Hira Ratan Manke (HRM) sat for a video interview in Ashland, Oregon. In this 24 minute long interview HRM explains the practice of sun gazing, provides a brief history of the practice, and shares some of science’s recent finding about this amazing solar food.

on April 1st, 2019I’ve been Sungazing on and off for a few years. Could you let me know how long you can take a break from it before you have to start all over again or does the sun energy store in your brain so that you can just pick up where you left off now matter how long the break? I was told by HRM that he recommends starting over from near the beginning and letting your experience tell you at which time you should stop for that day. Once we experience eye discomfort, stop. Then the next day, gaze for that same amount of time plus 10 seconds. You will be able to add time faster than 10 seconds per day because you have already accumulated the time in your prior gazing practice. However be patient and don’t exceed your eye’s comfort level. Once you then reach the maximum amount of time your previously gazed for, then resume with a strict 10 seconds added each day you sungaze.
