Most interestingly, natural sunlight vitamin D does not show signs of toxicity at any level. New research is showing that that Vitamin D deficiency may be a component of the lung inflammation that is seen in cystic fibrosis. Vitamin D has also been linked to the immune system and inflammation. A study published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry has shown that men with higher levels of vitamin D performed consistently better in a neuropsychological tests that assess attention and speed of information processing. Also, scientists observed slower information processing speed with lower levels of vitamin D levels.

Despite the Cancer Society’s claims that skin cancer is caused by sun exposure, increasing evidence shows that sun exposure reduces the risk of all forms of cancer and that skin cancer is more likely caused by a diet lacking omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids.
